Surface Confined Spaces

Fractionation Column

The fractionation column is approximately 80 feet high and is adjacent to the tower. This prop provides multiple level entry points, and catwalks that provide rescue scenarios with various types of confined spaces.

A highline modular system, in conjunction with the tower, will provide complicated challenges for the more advanced rescue teams.

Silo and Vessel

The Silo, together with the attached Vessel, provides teams with even more rescue challenges and surface confined space rescues.

The Silo stands 25 high, is 11 feet in diameter at the top, and funnels down to a 29 inch wide 14 foot long tube that connects to the Vessel.

The Vessel is 7 feet high and 15 feet long. One end of the Vessel has a pipe that is 21 inches wide and 10 feet long.

The Vessel has multiple entry points and an access door for observation by an experienced FSA instructor. This prop provides superb training for personnel employed in process operations.

Inchworm Tubes

The Inchworm Tubes are made of 36 inch plastic pipe with a slick interior that makes it very difficult for students to find traction with their hands and feet. In this prop, the student and the experienced FSA instructor are in direct contact with each other.

The students must use the proper mechanical advantage system in order to control themselves and a victim in this environment.
