Course Description

ARFF 40-Hour CFR 139

This 40-hour course is designed to meet current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) airport firefighter requirements for initial training. Classroom instruction and hands-on field exercises address aircraft familiarization and pre-planning; emergency control plan; fire behavior and extinguishing agents; evacuation and rescue; types of aircraft emergencies; strategies and tactics; vehicle operations and rescue drills. The training meets or exceeds FAA's part 139.391 requirements and many of NFPA's 1003 requirements.

There are no prerequisites for this training.

Important Notice Regarding ARFF Training:
Students will conduct fieldwork in approved personal protective equipment, including SCBA and other appropriate equipment, which can be considered physically and mentally strenuous.
