Incident command is essential at incidents. This 24-hour course, targeted at responders, response team leaders, environmental managers, supervisors and employers expected to respond to hazardous materials incidents presents important elements of the Incident Command System (ICS) and focuses on how ICS relates to hazardous materials. Classroom instruction addresses OSHA and NFPA standards; responsibilities and functions of the ICS in structuring the response; the hazardous materials group and its responsibilities and incident termination. Case studies and tabletop exercises will enhance instruction to increase competency in this important role.

For acceptance to this course, students must meet the prerequisite of attending the FSA HAZWOPER 24-Hour/Hazardous Materials First responder course or have received equivalent training.
