Course Description

Incident Safety Officer

One of the most critical roles in an effective industrial incident command system is the safety officer, whether assigned to a specific individual or performed by the incident commander. This 24-hour course examines the role of the safety officer and develops the knowledge and skills required to increase safeguards to people and property productively at the scene of an emergency. Classroom instruction addresses the role of the incident safety officer; regulations, standards and policies; recordkeeping and documentation; risk management and incident considerations including communications and monitoring.

There are no prerequisites for this course.
