Overview

To meet industry and company specific demands in specialty areas, the Fire Science Academy offers a range of special topics courses that are not included in our standard Open Enrollment course schedule. Instead, the courses listed below are made available for group training and are available upon request. To schedule a course from the list of special topics, please contact the Fire Science Academy by calling (775) 754-6003 or emailing fireacademy@unr.edu

  4. Wildland Firefighter (FFT 1)
  5. NWCG S-290 Intermediate Wildland Fire Behavior
  6. NWCG S-230 Crew Boss / Single Resource
  7. NWCG S-231 Engine Boss / Single Resource
  8. Annual Wildland Refresher Training

Important Notice Regarding Wildland Training:
Upon successful completion of course and subsequent position task book, students will receive the FSA NWCG-compliant Red Card displaying updated qualifications.
