Course Description

HAZWOPER 8-Hour / Hazardous Materials Refresher

This 8-hour course is designed to meet OSHA's annual training requirements in accordance with OSHA's 29 CFR 1910.120(q)(8)(i). Classroom and hands-on field exercises address emergency procedures and the Incident Command System (ICS); a summary of federal laws; identification and recognition of hazardous materials; toxicology and decontamination; personal protective equipment (PPE) and decontamination techniques.

Participants must meet the prerequisite of having completed a HAZWOPER Hazardous Materials Fire Responder Operations or HAZWOPER Hazardous Materials Technician course previously.

Important Notice Regarding Hazmat Training:
Students will conduct fieldwork in approved personal protective equipment, including SCBA and other appropriate equipment, which can be physically and mentally strenuous.
